Documentary to tell story of Indian Rocks Beach Artists

Documentary to tell story of Indian Rocks Beach Artists

The sight of the Plein Aire Cottage Artists on the streets of the city is fairly common. The three women have been painting scenes of the old Florida cottages that have lined Indian Rocks Beach’s shores for years. However, their presence isn’t that well known outside the city. That may well soon change, especially if a Tampa filmmaker has her way.

Presenting to Preservationists

Presenting to Preservationists

What a terrific day. This documentarian, representing our production studio, Creative on Main Street, was honored to be a speaker at the 2017 Florida Trust for Historic Preservation Statewide Conference. Mary Rose Holmes & Violetta Chandler, two of the "Save Our Cottage Artists" joined me. Our third  artist, Helen Tilston is currently in Ireland .. but we had additional help hanks to Violetta's artistic daughter Olga and Save Our Cottages Finance Committee member Daryl Frahn and my sweet husband, John Dingfelder.

There was a constant stream of people coming to our conference room...everyone loved the video promo, the artists, their artwork on display, and we made some great friends from all over the state.

A shout out & big thanks to Melissa Wyllie, Executive Director of the Florida Trust and Tondra Matthews, the Educational & Fiscal Director for their hard work, leadership and coordination. It was a terrific conference and we were honored to share the artists story and documentary promo with such a vibrant group of people.

Artists With a Cause - Three Women Change the Landscape

Here picturesque cottages sit comfortably - complementing the landscape rather than dominating it. It’s a small slice of ‘old Florida’ and a large amount of the credit for keeping it that way goes to three talented women.
